Agatha: Darkhold Diaries gets another name change! It seems Marvel has finally decided on a title for the Disney Plus series.
There may be no other Disney Plus series that has gone through as many title changes as the one focusing on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness. The series was initially announced by Marvel as Agatha: House of Harkness before being changed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos in 2022. It seems the final title has been chosen and it was, of course, Agatha all along!
Yes, the newest logo for the Disney Plus series reveals the title will now simply be Agatha. While it can’t be known for sure what was the reasoning behind all these title changes, it’s likely Marvel really wanted to cash in on the “Agatha All Along” puns with the fake-out titles like Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Though it’s certainly an odd decision given the show hasn’t had a lick of marketing otherwise.
Interestingly, this title change was all but confirmed last year by scooper CanWeGetSomeToast. While many outlets thought Marvel would title the Disney Plus series Agatha All Along, it seems the title was simply just Agatha All Along!
The Story Of The ‘Agatha’ Disney Plus Series
Details about Agatha have been kept close to the chest by Marvel. Despite originally being set to release late last year, only one piece of footage has been revealed from the series on the WandaVision Blu-ray. However, that doesn’t mean fans know nothing about the Disney Plus series.
A synopsis for the pilot episode of Agatha was released last year. The description teases that Agatha herself is ready to return to a life of villainy. But with her powers gone following the events of WandaVision, the witch must recruit old allies from across the Marvel universe to get her magic back.
One of these allies is set to be Joe Locke. While Marvel has yet to confirm the role of the Heartstopper actor in the Disney Plus show, rumors suggest that he’s a reincarnation of Wanda Maximoff’s son Billy Kaplan.
Agatha is set to release on Disney Plus this Fall. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
