With the release of Marvel’s Avengers, publisher Square Enix announced the game has become the most downloaded beta in PlayStation’s history.

After months of waiting, fans have finally been able to get their hands on Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix. But the publisher recently celebrated a surprising achievement, revealing that the game has the most downloaded beta in PlayStation history. The beta revealed just a few of the many skins available for players to customize their heroes with at the beginning of August, with some of the designs taking cues from some incredible stories in Marvel’s extensive history of comics.

Although Marvel’s Avengers is now available on PlayStation, Xbox One and PC, Square Enix announced that the game is the most-downloaded beta in PlayStation history two days before release. The announcement thanked the team behind the game at Crystal Dynamics. Luckily, fans looking to upgrade to PlayStation 5 when it arrives will be able to upgrade their game to the version for the next-gen console for free. Although plans for the Xbox Series X and Google Stadia haven’t been revealed just yet, the developers will reportedly make an announcement very soon.

Here is the official synopsis for the game:

Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
