It’s almost time for the Guardians of the Galaxy to face the music in Volume 3. Ahead of its release next month, brand new posters for each of the Marvel characters have been released online.
With the story of this incarnation of the Guardians of the Galaxy coming to an end, James Gunn is committed to wrapping up the arcs of each character in the final film of the trilogy. The posters show off brand new looks for the entire core Guardians team: Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper). A number of returning faces also got their own posters, including Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Kraglin (Sean Gunn). However, perhaps the most notable poster is the one featuring Cosmo the dog, who is voiced by Maria Bakalova. Many fans believed that her role would only be a cameo. However, it seems she’ll be joining the main cast of the Guardians for this final film.
A whole slew of Guardians of the Galaxy posters were also released when tickets became available for purchase. However, unlike these posters which put a focus on each guardian, the ticket posters each put a focus on Rocket Raccoon. While every character will get their own story in the film, it seems as though Rocket will serve as the center of the larger story, tying the team together when they need it the most. The posters can be seen in full below.
What to expect from the third Guadians movie
One confirmed aspect of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the return of James Gunn as writer and director. Gunn was originally set to direct the film after the success of the first two Guardians flicks, but was temporarily removed from the project due to controversial tweets that resurfaced from his past. However, after a public outcry from the Guardians cast and fans, Gunn was reinstated on the film. Vol. 3 is his last Marvel movie due to his commitments to DC Studios.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
