This Spider-Man: No Way Home actor is set to reprise his role in Ms. Marvel.
As Marvel Studios made their expansion from the big screen to the small one thanks to the launch of Disney Plus, more tie-ins teasing the broader franchise connections were showcased, including some direct tie-ins amongst other Phase 4 projects, with one notable example being WandaVision leading directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, it looks like another link is being made, now that a Spider-Man: No Way Home actor is reprising his role in Ms. Marvel.
Arian Moayed, who played Agent P. Cleary of the Department of Damage Control was listed among the following cast list via the official project profile.
Iman Vellani, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Fawad Khan, Laurel Marsden, Arian Moayed, Adaku Ononogbo, Alysia Reiner, Azhar Usman, Laith Nakli, Nimra Bucha, Travina Springer, with Aramis Knight
But is it the same Spider-Man: No Way Home character?
Although there is a good chance that Arian Moayed is reprising his role from Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is possible that he could be playing a completely different character in Ms. Marvel. After all, actress Gemma Chan has played two different roles in the MCU in Captain Marvel and Eternals. Either way, this could be yet another direct tie-in showcasing more of the interconnected nature of the franchise that is part of why fans have come back after all these years.
Here is the synopsis for Ms. Marvel:
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?
The upcoming MCU series Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Farhan Akhtar. Episodes of the series will be directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer.
