A ScreenX image gives us a closer look at Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The next theatrical chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, looks to further explore the twisted nature of the Multiverse in question. Given that in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) laments to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) that “frighteningly little” is known about the Multiverse, things appear to only get further out of hand in the events following the assembly of three different Spider-Men, especially if characters like Professor X (Patrick Stewart) are potentially involved in this whole circus.
Perhaps the most viral moment from the main trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was when Stephen Strange is shown standing in front of what looks to be the Illuminati, with Patrick Stewart’s Professor X uttering, “We should tell him the truth…” Although the beloved X-Men actor initially played coy with his role in the film, he has since confirmed his involvement.
Although we have yet to see Patrick Stewart’s likeness as Professor X in any released footage from the film, a new image from a ScreenX promo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gives us a better look at the character. In particular, we see the screenshot of Stephen Strange in front of the Illuminati, and it appears that Charles Xavier is sitting on his iconic chair from the comics and animated series from the 1990s:
