Regal Cinemas has announced when its theaters will begin reopening following the earlier concerns about the ongoing pandemic.
After announcing several reopening delays, Regal Cinemas has announced a new later date when its doors will be open to the public once again. As the film industry continues to struggle to get back on its feet during the pandemic, many fans are eagerly awaiting to return to theaters and see delayed releases like Tenet, Wonder Woman 1984 and Black Widow. But a new press release from Regal Cinemas’ parent company, Cineworld, reveals the new reopening date for its U.S. based theaters.
The statement confirms Regal Cinemas will reopen to the public on August 21 next month, with Cineworld CEO Mooky Greidinger expressing that the health and safety of the company’s employees and its customers is the top priority. It was previously confirmed that both Regal Cinemas and Alamo Drafthouse will require audiences to wear masks during screenings. The statement also confirmed Regal Cinemas will be following all the advice and official guidelines from public health officials. So Regal Cinemas still might face further delays depending on if the coronavirus situation gets worse in the U.S., but only time will tell.
“Welcoming theatergoers back to our cinemas will be a celebration for not only our team and our industry, but most importantly for the fans who have been anxiously awaiting the year’s upcoming releases. With the health and safety of our staff, customers and communities as our top priority, we are happy to invite audiences to return to the timeless theatrical experience that we have all dearly missed.”
