It may finally be time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Taylor’s Version)! A new rumor suggests Taylor Swift has met with Marvel for a potential role in the franchise.
Taylor Swift is no stranger to acting, nor Marvel. In fact, it’s the pop star’s love for Deadpool that started the rumor that she would be appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine. While all signs still point to Swift making her MCU debut in the project as a small cameo, it seems she has higher hopes for the cinematic universe.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, a.k.a. DanielRPK, Taylor Swift recently had a “good meeting” with Marvel head Kevin Feige to discuss a potential role in the MCU. Swift wouldn’t even be the first pop star recruited to join the Marvel universe, with Harry Styles making his debut as Eros in Eternals. Though, given that project’s reputation, it’s likely Feige would want to downplay any connection there.
What Role Could Taylor Swift Play In The MCU?
Richtman would expand on the rumor by stating that Taylor Swift is currently in talks to join Scarlett Johansson’s rumored The Blonde Phantom Disney Plus series. The time period certainly matches up to Swift’s taste, with the project said to take place in Las Vegas in the 1950s. However, it’s hard to imagine Kevin Feige would pay “Taylor Swift” levels of money only to leave her Marvel role on a streaming service.
Another possibility is that the pop star will play Dazzler in the MCU’s X-Men reboot. Parallels have already been drawn between Taylor Swift and the mutant musician, and it’s clear that Kevin Feige wants some major momentum behind the team prior to their return to the big screen. The only thing for certain at this point is that whatever role Swift lands, she’s certain to bring in millions.
