Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff film, Madame Web has added Ghostbusters: Afterlife actress Celeste O’Connor to its cast.
Way back in 2018, Sony released its first Spider-Man spinoff film, Venom. While the film was critically panned it still managed to make well over $800M at the worldwide box office. This eventually inspired the studio to greenlight other spinoff films based around Spider-Man characters that included both villains and heroes. These included a recently released Morbius film, a Venom sequel, with a third film currently in development. In addition, the studio has a Kraven The Hunter film in production with at least two additional movies being worked on including an El Muerto film starring Bad Bunny and a Madame Web film.
Since Sony’s Madame Web film was initially announced, it has steadily begun adding actors to its cast. This has included Dakota Johnson in the lead role and Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney in an unknown part. Now the movie has added a member of Ghostbusters: Afterlife to its roster.
According to Variety, Sony’s Madame Web has added Celeste O’Connor to its roster. O’Connor is a younger actress and is currently best known for her role in last year’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife where she played the character Lucky. It is currently unknown what role she will play in the upcoming film.
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s latest Marvel film, Morbius:
