Could fans be seeing the Superman costume sooner rather than later? Natalia Safran, the wife of DC Studios co-head Peter Safran, chimed in on the timeline of seeing more of David Corenswet’s outfit.
James Gunn set the internet ablaze a few days ago when he revealed the first look at David Corenswet’s suit for Superman. This has left fans hungry for a more complete look at the outfit. While news about the film has been slow as filming begins, Natalia Safran teased that fans will have to wait just a bit longer for a full reveal of the suit.
“Not for a bit yet…” Safran teased in an Instagram comment. “But soon enough and it’s oh so good!!”
While Natalia Safran is likely biased in favor of DC Studios, it’s almost guaranteed that the full suit really is that good. James Gunn worked with costume designer and frequent collaborator Judianna Makovsky to bring David Corenswet’s Superman suit to life. Makovsky has previously designed costumes for films like The Suicide Squad and Avengers: Endgame, making her one of the most experienced in the business.
James Gunn has also seemingly based David Corenswet’s suit on the Kingdom Come comics, serving as a departure from previous live-action Superman suits. DC Studios also likely took some hints from the Max Fleischer suit, likely leaving it much more streamlined than prior incarnations as well.
It’s not clear when DC Studios will unveil an official look at David Corenswet’s suit. However, with James Gunn deep in production on Superman, it’s likely fans will get a glimpse before filming starts in America to avoid set photo leaks. This could mean a reveal sometime before SDCC, and more than likely within a month or two.
David Corenswet is far from the only one getting a sweet suit for Superman. Isabela Merced recently teased her fitting for Hawkgirl’s helmet. It’s also certain James Gunn and Judianna Makovsky have some surprising suits up their sleeve for other characters like Green Lantern and Mr. Terrific. With passion like these, DC Studios seems off to a perfect start when it comes to costume design!
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
