Zack Snyder has confirmed that he’ll be changing the color grading for his upcoming cut of Justice League.

One of the complaints from the theatrical cut of Justice League, which was overseen by Joss Whedon, was that the color grading on the film had been changed. Numerous scenes from the trailer, which looked notably darker, were made brighter and colorful when seen in theatres. Earlier this year, Justice League cinematographer Fabian Wagner confirmed that Warner Bros. had changed the color grading on the film after Zack Snyder departed from the project. With Snyder finally getting his long-awaited cut of the film, he has confirmed that he’ll be reverting the color grading back to what it once was.

Zack Snyder confirmed the news when asked by a fan on Vero who was curious if the third act’s red sky would be changed for the Justice League cut. You can check out a screenshot of the exchange below.

The third act’s bright, red sky was originally a somber blue. The original blue sky was seen in the first trailer for Justice League but as confirmed by Wagner, the color grading for the film was changed. Zack Snyder confirming that he’ll be reverting the sky’s color is just one of the many changes that we know will grace the HBO Max version of the film. The director has teased Martian Manhunter‘s inclusion in the film as well as Darkseid‘s!
