The new artwork sees Emma Stone bring Barbara Gordon to life.

Emma Stone The Amazing Spider-Man Batgirl

This incredible new Batgirl fan art pictures The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone as Barbara Gordon.

Although the Batgirl film is still a few years away from arriving on the big screen, new fan art imagines what Emma Stone could look like as the next big screen version of the iconic DC Comics heroine. Fans haven’t seen a live-action version of the character since Alicia Silverstone appeared in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin in 1997, but the art of The Amazing Spider-Man star pictures her in the black and yellow Batgirl outfit. Fans have recently suggested stars like Kaitlyn Dever and Zoey Deutch should have a shot at the role in the DC Extended Universe.

The new artwork from ‘oliviadesignok’ features Emma Stone wearing the bulkier protective armor fans have seen Batgirl wear in the past rather than the purple leather jacket look from the hero’s recent stories. Stone isn’t the only Marvel actress whose name has circled the Batgirl role, with Avengers star Karen Gillan mentioning earlier this year that she’d love to direct and star in a Barbara Gordon solo movie. For now, take a look at Emma Stone as Batgirl in the artwork below.

Joss Whedon has previously signed on to write, direct, and produce a Batgirl film before exiting the project, stating he could not crack the story for the project. A couple of months later, Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson was hired to pen the Batgirl script after reportedly impressing Warner Bros. with her work on the screenplay for Birds of Prey.

Batgirl is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
