Fans finally know when Peacemaker is coming back! James Gunn reveals the expected release window for season 2 of the highly anticipated DC Universe show.
Peacemaker made a splash when it first hit the scene. It was bold, fresh, and exactly what the DC Universe needed at the time. But with the show’s writer and director James Gunn now handling the reboot for Superman, along with the entire dang franchise, fans of the show have been patiently waiting for over two years about any news of when season 2 might finally hit streaming.
With production on season 2 of Peacemaker now ramping up, fans have been knocking on James Gunn’s door once more wondering when the show might come back. He finally provided an answer on Threads recently, revealing that the show will return to the DC Universe in 2025 after Superman, putting it squarely in the fall/winter seasons for release.
All Fans Know About Peacemaker Season 2
Season 2 of Peacemaker is set to bring John Cena into the new DC Universe (with a brand new helmet design to boot!). James Gunn also plans to bring back much of the cast from the first season, including Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo. Gunn is only directing a handful of episodes of the season, however, as most of his attention has been put onto Superman.
Peacemaker is also set to bring a bunch of new cast members into the DC Universe with season 2. This includes Sol Rodriguez, David Denman, and Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury. Frank Grillo will also make his return as Rick Flag Sr., making the show his third outing as the character after Creature Commandos and Superman. It’s unclear if any other heroes from the reboot will make a cameo in the series at this current time.
