Sony announced that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be returning to theaters with an extended cut.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home instantly became one of the biggest movies of all-time. The film, which was the conclusion to Tom Holland’s trilogy of standalone films showcased the return of numerous villains from previous films in the franchise, and is perhaps most notable for its inclusion of the two previous Peter Parker actors, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire alongside the MCU’s iteration during its big climax.

Now, the film is set to have a special re-release in theaters as part of this new extended version of the film. Spider-Man: No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version has been confirmed for a September 2, 2022 release.

More Spider-Man action!

Given the overwhelmingly positive response to the dynamic amongst all three Peter Parker actors, it wouldn’t be surprising if this new extended edition of the film featured more scenes of their chemistry together. The work that the three of them shared was received so positively, that some are still holding out hope to see more of them in the future.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: No Way Home:

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.

No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Be sure to continue following us for more news on this upcoming extended cut, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
