Will fans finally forget the mistake that was Spider-Man 3? A new rumor suggests the final spell in Spider-Man: No Way Home had some unforeseen consequences.
The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home was one of the most impactful in any Marvel Cinematic Universe film, with Doctor Strange casting a spell to make it so everyone forget Peter Parker’s real identity. However, a new rumor suggests the magic reached further. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s worlds also forgot their identities.
While a fun idea to toy around with, it’s more than likely this rumor doesn’t have much ground to stand on. It’s made very clear in Spider-Man: No Way Home that this spell only affects the MCU’s Peter Parker, which is why all the villains came through in the first place. Additionally, fans already saw Andrew Garfield’s real identity in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, essentially debunking the rumor outright.
Spider-Man’s Future In The MCU
Even though Peter Parker may no longer exist in the MCU, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a future for Spider-Man. While everyone knew that Spider-Man: No Way Home would get a sequel eventually, it may be coming sooner than expected. A new report suggests the project will begin filming sometime this fall, aiming for a late 2025 or early 2026 release.
Plot details about the project are also starting to come out. A new rumor suggests Spider-Man 4 will follow up on the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: No Way Home, officially giving Peter Parker his black symbiote suit in the MCU. It’s unclear if this means the hero will don the suit for the whole movie, or simply as a final act teaser for a future project.
