Superman Photos May Reveal First Look At Kent Farm For James Gunn’s DCU

Looks like we are back in Smallville, Kansas!

With production on James Gunn’s Superman more than halfway done, principal photography is now moving to LaGrange, Georgia, as the first possible set photos of the Kent farm has surfaced online.

Check them out below.

In past Superman movies and TV shows, Clark Kent has often visited his hometown and parents. It appears the upcoming reboot of the DC Universe will likely include a similar storyline where Superman returns to his roots for some insight from his Earth parents.

The Kents

Neva Howell has been cast as Martha Kent, also known as Ma Kent, in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. The adoptive mother of Superman and wife of Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent will be portrayed by Howell, who steps into a role that has seen several notable portrayals over the years.

Martha Kent has been a significant character in the Superman saga, previously portrayed by Phyllis Thaxter in the 1978 Superman movie, Eva Marie Saint in 2006’s Superman Returns, and Diane Lane in the DC Extended Universe. Each actress brought a unique interpretation to the role, contributing to Superman’s big screen legacy.

Taylor Pruitt Vince has been cast as Johnathan Kent aka Pa Kent. Known for his roles in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELDThe Walking Dead, and The Mentalist, Vince is an unexpected choice but brings substantial experience to the iconic role, shaping a new portrayal of Superman’s adoptive father in the first project of Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe saga.

Readers may recognize Pruitt Taylor Vince from his role as Otis in AMC’s The Walking Dead or as Grill in the fifth season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC. He joins a growing list of actors who have made the leap from Marvel to DC projects. Jonathan Kent was last played by Kevin Costner in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe.
