Could Superman be facing his most dangerous villain yet? A new rumor teases the iconic doppleganger Ultraman making his debut in the DC Universe.
Speculation has been rampant about who the villain will be for Superman’s DC Universe debut. It seems scooper MyTimeToShineHello has the answer, with a new rumor revealing that Ultraman will appear in the upcoming film, turning the public against Superman after an attack on a foreign country.
It’s important to note that this is far from a new rumor, stemming back to scooper CanWeGetSomeToast in April. James Gunn also personally debunked the idea that Ultraman or any other Superman doppleganger will be a villain in the DC Universe film, insisting that Lex Luthor would be the primary antagonist. However, that doesn’t mean the villain couldn’t make a cameo!
The False Villains Of Superman
Ultraman is far from the only villain that’s had a rumor put out about them. One particularly old rumor suggests that Brainiac will be making his DC Universe debut in Superman. However, given this came out during the Hollywood strikes, it’s possible James Gunn moved away from those plans during production.
James Gunn has also debunked a rumor suggesting that Superman will be facing off against other heroes of the DC Universe in the film. This would seem to line up with the current Ultraman rumor, serving as another knock against the concept. It truly seems as though fans won’t know the villain of the film until it finally releases!
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
