Blindspotting star Rafael Casal is the latest actor to join Tom Hiddleston and the cast of Loki Season 2.
Marvel Studios now has several different original Disney Plus series under their belt. And although the reception to those shows (along with the rest of Phase 4) has been mostly mixed amongst critics and fans, with some series not having a second season on the horizon, at least Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will continue on for Season 2. Now, we have confirmation on a new addition to the cast in Blindspotting actor Rafael Casal.
According to Deadline, Rafael Casal will have a major role in Loki Season 2, and speculation regarding the actor’s role in the series began when a set photo emerged with the Blindspotting star walking alongside co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. As of now, the identity of Casal’s character remains unknown at this time.

For those unfamiliar with Rafael Casal, followers of independent cinema may have seen him in the aforementioned 2018 film Blindspotting, in which he also co-wrote the script with his co-star Daveed Diggs. He also reprises his role in the spinoff sequel series of the same name, which airs on Starz and will return for Season 2. He also appeared in the acclaimed HBO original film, Bad Education alongside Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney.
Marvel Studios often casts up-and-coming actors and actresses from the indie film/television scene for some of their big projects, given that the brand name itself will sell audiences to check out the latest chapter of the current biggest film/TV franchise in the world. With an actor like Rafael Casal jumping from the smaller-scale dramedy of Blindspotting to the sprawling world-building of Loki, it’s a great opportunity for fans unfamiliar with his work to give it a look. Either way, it will be exciting to see him share the screen with Tom Hiddleston.
